Black Friday Deals at Lowe's

The deals roll in at Lowe's home improvement stores beginning bright and early on the morning of Black Friday. In addition to great deals on hardware, appliances, and tools, the store brings in a good deal of unique, once-a-year merchandise especially for Black Friday shoppers.

Some of the best deals from Black Friday 2013 at Lowes included fresh cut fraser fir Christmas wreaths at a price of 2 for $10, A DeWalt 20 Volt 1/2 inch cordless lithium ion drill for $99, and a 227-piece mechanic set for more than $100 off of retail. Quart poinsettias, one of the most traditional symbols of the Christmas season, were available for less than a dollar. This was a savings of over 60 percent. Christmas trees and lights were 20% off, a great deal for those last minute decorative additions. Additional deals included everything from miter saws to washer dryer combination sets.

2014 Black Friday at Lowes is expecting to be just as fantastic as years prior. It is a great sale for stocking up essential household items that are typically quite expensive, like large appliances and lawn equipment. Additionally, holiday needs like totes, Christmas trees, and ornaments are available at a deep discount during Black Friday. It also is understood that this is the place to shop for the home improvement enthusiast, mechanic, or carpenter in your life.

Lowe's sale provides consumers a great price on some rare Black Friday finds. While other stores focus on frivolous items, clothing, and candies, Lowe's offers amazing deals on things we all need. Lowe's is a must stop for most to complete the holiday shopping list, as well as the honey-do list.

About Lowe's Home Improvement

The first Lowe's store opened in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina in 1921. Named for founder Lucius Smith Lowe, it was known as "Lowe's North Wilkesboro Hardware". In 1940, Lucius Lowe passed away, bequeathing his hardware store to his daughter. Ruth, his daughter, sold her hand in the company to her brother.

From there, Lowe's first began to expand. Early attempts included grocery stores, notions, horse tack, and snuff. There were even Lowe's Groceries. Well into the 1980's and through several executive shifts, Lowe's remained a small town hardware store. However, as competition grew from Big Box retailers the store eventually had to shift focus or face destruction. Today most of the 1,700 + Lowe's stores around the world are big-box format, with only a few holdouts in smaller markets.

Today Lowe's is the second largest retail hardware chain in the United States and world, still lagging behind Home Depot in both cases. The retailer is ranked #43 on the Fortune 500 index.
