Burlington Coat Factory Black Friday Sale
Despite the name, coats account for only a small portion of the massive offerings at Burlington Coat Factory. Featuring clothing, nursery accessories, games, toys, housewares, shoes, formal attire, and much, much more, the biggest niche for this store is the fact that they offer high-quality, name brand items at wholesale prices. The store also provides convenient hours, layaway, and special Baby Depot deals for expecting parents, including extra time for layaway and a registry program. These factors have helped to make the store extremely popular and contributed to their phenomenal growth.
As do most department stores, Burlington Coat Factory puts on an annual Black Friday sale on the day after Thanksgiving each year. In the past, they have opened as early as 6am on the Friday after Thanksgiving, and have stayed open late into the night. A few of the noteworthy deals they gave last year were a 10% discount card valid November 1st-January 20th if you donated a gently used coat for those in need. They also provided a $5 discount card if all layaway items were purchased by December 24th. And, lastly, most of their designer clothes, toys, and even fragrances and accessories were marked down to $20 or under- many toys were available for under $10!
The great deals offered in lieu of Black Friday, combined with the everyday savings offered at Burlington Coat Factory, are sure to pull in a crowd. The store is a great place to pick up gifts for baby, accessories, unique housewares, and stock up on designer label clothing at rock bottom prices all year round. Some of the high-profile items each year are expected to sell out quickly, so you'll want to make sure you're there when they open if you're keeping an eye on those items. However, good deals always abound at Burlington! As a result, most consumers can stop by Burlington toward the end of their Black Friday shopping day and still walk away with quite a good haul.
Burlington Coat Factory's History
In 1972, Henrietta Milstein convinced her husband to purchase a former factory outlet in Burlington, New Jersey to start a wholesale coat store. Her husband and his father had been running an outerwear department store for some time, and she wanted him to go out on his own. As the Burlington Coat Factory became more and more popular, they began offering more than just seasonal coats. Over the years, Burlington has grown and expanded into more than 500 stores across the United States and Puerto Rico.
